Juvenile Presentation Evening - 30/11/2024

Writer's picture: Skerries Harps PROSkerries Harps PRO

Our Juvenile Boys & Girls teams from U8-U16 gathered on Saturday evening in the Community Centre, for our Annual Presentation Evening - where each team shares highlights from their year representing the Harps across both GO Games For U8-U12 teams & League/Championship competitions for our CCC2 U13-U16 teams.

The Juvenile Committee also took the opportunity to welcome our new GPO Lauren Finney to the Harps - Lauren has hit the ground running with Academy & in our local schools, already making a huge impression on both the club committee & our youngest members.

We were also delighted to have our former GPO Katelyn O'Brien with us and to be able to properly wish her well on her path to her future teaching career.. Thanks to both Lauren & Katelyn for being with us.

Our MC for the night Anthony Weldon & incoming Juvenile Chair Seamus Banim welcomed players, parents and guardians alike to the event, and shared the key highlights for each team which included many trips to other clubs, weekends away, and successes in competition for some of our older teams. Breda Tuite represented our main club Sponsor Moriarty Supervalu Skerries, and spoke of the long standing and strong partnership between the Harps & the Moriarty Group & Family - something we are the Harps are very proud of, and we are also very appreciative of the essential support from Luke, James & the Moriarty Family over many years.

The club also took the opportunity to recognise the development of our players from U13-U16 teams in Hurling, Football, Camogie & Ladies football with the presentation of Player of the Year & Most Improved Player awards (check out our roll of honour for 2024 below).

Well done to all our Juvenile teams and members this year, and of course their coaches/mentors who give so generously of their time to volunteer and ensure teams can train to the highest standards and make it to matches each weekend. Thank you also to the parents of our members for their ongoing support.

Finally, thanks to Our Juvenile Committee - MJ Geoghegan (Outgoing Chair), Gerry Connolly (Juv Secretary), Seamus Banim (Incoming Chair) & all those who supported the set up for the event on Saturday and helped out for the evening & our intercounty reps, Hannah McGinnis, Paddy Copeland & Finn McGinnis for presenting the awards on the night

We are all very much looking forward to the 2025 season, and watching our juvenile teams flourish, develop and grow .

Wishing you all a happy healthy Christmas and enjoy the break - we will see you all back in the New Year, refreshed and ready to go!
