Under 7 Boys Football & Hurling Blitz

The under 7 boys travelled to Maurs in Rush on Saturday 9th November.

We had a great turnout by both the boys and their parents and we fielded a total of 23 boys. We were involved in a blitz with both Maurs and Balbriggan. As this was our first hurling outing we were all a little nervous, however we shouldn’t have been…the boys showed great skill and a drive to win. They played fairly and with great commitment, although the odd football kick was present but luckily the ref didn’t seem to see it. The boys had a total of 4 hurling games and they won 1, drew 2 and lost 1.

We then moved onto football and in great Harps tradition the boys were masters of the game…we won all 4 matches comprehensively. It was very encouraging to see when 1 of the teams finished early the other team came down to cheer their fellow players on to great avail as this match ended up with a score line of 11 – 1, with a master-class in free taking as well as pointing from play!!

Well done everyone and thanks to all the parents for supporting the boys and helping with everything. We all had a great day with the boys asking could they not play another game, only the adults were showing signs of fatigue!! Come on the Harps!!
