On the Saturday 1st June 2013 the Under 13 Camogie team went to Shannon to play in a friendly match against Shannon Wolftones.

Wolftones fielded an under 14 team to play the Skerries Harps under 13's and all of the Skerries panel bar two were able to travel.

The trip was organised by Tara who in a former life played with Wolftones, she had organised other activities for the team after the game.

We arrived and after a bit of lunch headed down to the Wolftones new pitch which was very impressive and like a billard table. The game went very well with Skerries giving a good account of themselves the player of the match from a Skerries point of view was undoubtedly Chole McNicholas who played out of her skin challenging everything that came anywhere near her. The whole team gave a great account of themselves on the day but unfortunately were defeated.

After the game the girls were brought to the Shannon Leisure Centre where Tara had arranged a team building/bonding activity for them in the form of a climbing wall.

From this they went on to the swimming pool where again there was a section of the pool allotted to the team and the Lifeguards spent the full hour ensuring they all had fun and enjoyed themselves. From here all went back to the hotel where dinner was had and the girls entertained themselves until they were invited into a wedding by the mother of the bride, they had their picture taken as a team with the bride had a few cocktail sausages and sandwiches and then retired to their rooms for a well deserved sleep !!

Orla Corcoran unfortunately was not there to play with the team on the day as she was in Cork playing with the Dublin Developement Squad ( Congratulations Orla ). However Orla did make it to the activities and to the Hotel for the overnight stay.

A big word of thanks to Tara for organising the trip and all the activities etc also Stephen Dooley and Joe Corrcoran for all the work they all put into the team training matches and all other organising put into making it all work on a week to week basis
