On Sunday last Na Fianna brought 2 teams to Skerries. The games were played on the main pitch and the surface was excellent for camogie

This is a re3port on the blue teams match

The team lined out with Grace Murphy in goal for the first half and she did everything that was expected off her keeping a clean sheet and her puck outs were spot on.

Hannah Fenell, Naoise Finnegan ,Emily Healy and Molly Nealon were in defence and all played well clearing the sliotar away without much fuss. Many of the girls are getting much better at lifting and getting the ball into their hand. A few more are just about reaching that level but should have more confidence in themselves and not be afraid to try things , it’s not the end of the world if it goes wrong.

Niamh Cotter and Jane Maguire subbing up from under 10 played at midfield for first half, both girls played very well lifting and striking of both sides and both got a number of good goals in the first half.

In the forwards for first half were Annie O Dea ,Shauna NcGowan, Hannah Lengenhager and Caoimhe Ni Domhnaill.  Caoimhe scored a big haul of goals including one super mid-air strike. She stayed close to goal and benefitted well from the other forwards and midfielders shooting some good shots towards her. Skerries were well up at half time.

In the second half Grace Murphy left goal and went to centre field where she played really well , getting the ball into hand easily and sending some good passes into the forwards. She must learn to run and cover a little more when playing at midfield.

It was an easy victory in the end but Na Fianna just never got going even though they have some very nice players.
