Harps u14 boys footballers, sponsored by Moriartys SuperValu, competed last weekend in their Féile na Peil competitions. A 39 man strong panel was supplemented by three under 13s for the weekend’s tournament.
Our B team were hosted by Kilmacud Crokes and unfortunately did not come out of their group, beaten by narrow margins in all three matches. The lads gave it their all and will now focus on their league form which sees them second in Division 7 of the Dublin leagues.
Our A team hosted in Skerries and came out of their group with wins over Castleknock and Lucan Sarsfields and a loss to eventual Féile winners, Whitehall Colmcille. The boys travelled to Ballyboden on Sunday morning to play current Dublin Division One champions, St Sylvesters only to be pipped by one point in a tight tense battle which resulted in a score of 0-7 to 0-6. Again this team gained valuable experience competing with the best in Dublin and will now turn their efforts to maintaining a strong run in Division 1 of the Dublin football leagues.
A big thank you to the all the parents and helpers who made it a great experience for the lads and a special thanks to Gordon Kehoe as Féile co-ordinator for all four Féiles hosted in our new facilities over the last few weeks. Go raibh mile maith agaibh!
