Skerries Harps Newsletter - 7th of April 2015

posted 7 Apr 2015, 01:14 by Skerries Harps

Skerries Harps under 12 Hurlers entered two of their hurling panel in the O'Tooles Hurling wall competition on Good Friday.  Ethan Dunne and Luke Whelan fought it out against the 6 other clubs representatives. Despite the cold both players performed well in their first round target shooting and timed wall hits.  There were some excellent first round scores posted by the Raheny lads and it was clear that the Skerries hurlers would had some ground to make up. Both Ethan and Luke put in excellent scores in their second rounds. Unfortunately it just wasn't enough to catch the two Raheny players who took 1st and 2nd places. Luke took the third place prize of a Kearney Hurley.  Unfortunately Ethan was just outside the prizes but he gave an excellent account of skill level in Skerries Harps hurling.

Well done to both Ethan and Luke on their strong performances. Congratulations to the Raheny lads, and many thanks to Lenny Rock from O'Tooles for organising  a great Good Friday.

Congratulations to Eve Kehoe from Skerries Community College who captained Dublin Senior Colleges team to all Ireland Victory in the Inter-Provincial Colleges Camogie Championship last week.
