Skerries Harps Club Notes 13th May 2019

A busy week on the field of play with midweek fixtures in full swing. Our AFL1 team recorded a draw against Cuala away from home on Wednesday the 8th, and a win at home on Sunday the 12th against OP ER. AFL4 had a good win over Clontarf in the midweek fixture but lost out by the narrowest of margins on Sunday to Cuala. AFL9 were defeated by St Finians Swords. The Senior Ladies lost out by 1pt to Parnells in the Intermediate Championship. 

The club had plenty of representatives on Dublin panels over the weekend, Hannah McGinnis with u14 ladies Football, Alex Ward U14 Camogie, Ronan Geoghegan U15 hurling, Eoin Wilde U16 Hurling/Celtic Challenge, Emma Parker & Megan Carroll Intermediate Camogie & Alix Buckley Senior Camogie. Well done to all! Great to see the Harps so well represented!

U14 Girls host the Division 10 LGFA Feile on Sat 18th May at the Club, all support for our girls and visiting teams appreciated. Matches start 10.30am.

Annual Primary School Football Leagues continue every Monday during May, with Finals day Mon 3rd June. Over 400 boys & girls take part each week, with 24 teams in total, so a great atmosphere around the club! All welcome to come down and support these young players!

Well done to Daire Geoghegan, Cillian Wilde & Jaring Fitzgerald who came 1st, 2nd & 3rd respectively in the Community Games Poc Fada competition on Sunday - Daire & Cillian now move on to the Dublin competition to represent Skerries.

Skerries Harps 1st Golf Outing of the year took place on Friday at Balbriggan GC. The course was in magnificent condition for the 48 players and many thanks to all at the Balbriggan GC for their continued hospitality. Congrats to Patsy Beggs the overall winner with 37 pts, and to all the prize winners. Best of luck for the year ahead to The SHAGS 2019 Captain Joe Coleman.
