Senior Footballers consolidate position at top of league

posted 13 Jun 2016, 02:18 by Skerries Harps

Adult Football League. Division 2. Kilmacud-Crokes:  0 – 7;   Skerries Harps:  0 – 15.

Skerries Harps consolidated their position at the top of Division 2 with a comfortable win in Glenalbyn on Wednesday evening. Skerries were in control from the throw in and led 0 -5 to no score after 10 mins. Then two quick points, first from Cashman and then from Rocks, which were solid goal chances had they been kept on the deck, saw Harps lead by 0 – 9 to 0 – 3 at the break.

Shortly after the restart, Kilmacud were reduced to 14 after a bad tackle on Jack Smith who had to be substituted. Once again, Harps struggled to adapt with the extra man but did enough to secure the win. Bryan Cullen was top scorer with 4 points while Sean Rocks followed with 3. Donnacha Reilly was Man of the Match, covering acres of ground from midfield. Overall, a fine team performance.

Skerries play Parnells at Chanel on Saturday 11 June at 6 pm.
