SKERRIES HARPS 0-14 Scoil Ui Chonaill 1-09

The McMeel's Pharmacy sponsored Harps made it two wins from two in this match played in Clontarf Road on Sunday morning. Both sides having won their opening games were eager to maintain their 100% records and it was the visitors who looked sharper in the opening minutes and deservedly took the lead with a Bryan Cullen point. The teams traded points to reach four points all, with Cullen, Johnny Garrett and Harry Dawson the Skerries marksmen. This was becoming a very entertaining game with both defences on top, then Gerry Daly put Harps back in front before two points from placed balls put Scoil in front at the interval by 0-06 to 0-05.
The second half saw Skerries set about business and two beautiful curled points from Dawson had them in front by the minimum after two minutes play, and when Jack Smith and Donnacha Reilly added quick fire scores the Harps were three in front  and looking in command. A penalty for the home side was duly converted and the match was all tied up. The intensity rose to another level then and Dawson pointed twice to answer the homesters brace, still all square.
Colin Daly harshly recieved a black card to follow his earlier yellow and Harps were down to 14 for the last ten minutes.
Its then the visitors showed their mettle and especially Man of the Match Sean Rocks who from a defensive position beat five opponents before slotting  the ball across the black spot from twenty metres to put his side in front. Dawson and Rocks again put two between the sides and Harps held on in a frantic finish to claim two well earned points. This team are playing some entertaining football and augers well for the rest of the season.

Next up in the league is a home match on Sat 2nd April V St.Pat's Palmerstown.
