The annual Primary School Leagues Finals took place Monday last in Skerries Harps
Sponsored by Seamus Mulholland and supported by the Bus Bar now in its 22nd year. An average of 330 boys and girls from local primary schools participated every Monday over the previous five weeks. With the emphasis on participation and fun there was huge enthusiasm from all involved from the GAA novices to the seasoned Harps players. There was also plenty of encouragement from friends and family with all our volunteer mentors eagerly encouraging each player to do their best and more importantly making sure they had fun while playing. While our latest club referees kept an expert eye on proceedings.
After five weeks and 64 games the finalists competed for their respective Cups. Clare Captain Ronan Mulcahy lifted the John Stapleton Cup in the Junior Boys Final V Tipperary. Roscommon Captain Robyn Buckley lifted the George McMeel Cup in the Junior Girls V Monaghan. Fermanagh Captain Finn Chatten lifted the Bobby Beggs Cup in the Senior Boys Final V Kilkenny and Westmeath Captain Meg Mulvanney lifted the Richard Keane Cup in the Senior Girls Final V Kerry.
Many Thanks To All Who Contributed To Another Great Year.
Looking forward to next years presentation from our new clubhouse
