More Silver for the Trophy Cabinet as U10 Hurlers win hurling shield

posted 7 Nov 2016, 04:56 by Skerries Harps

On Saturday 5th November the under 10 hurling team headed off to Navan, to take part in a hurling tournament. This was the first time this tournament took place, which was hosted by Navan O’Mahony’s Gaa club. In total there were 7 clubs who took part 3 from Meath, 2 from Kildare and 2 Dublin clubs. The boys played 3 matches and then the final. They played with great pride and passion showing great skills, with clean blocking, hooking and hand passing, in hard conditions. This was the first competitive tournament they have played in and they acquitted themselves in true Harps form which saw them winning their shield final. It was a credit to the boys to be able to take their frees with tremendous accuracy in a tight final. Well done to all involved and a huge thank you to Navan O’Mahony’s for organising this event, it was a great day for all involved. Thanks to all the parents for bringing the lads to Navan and their tremendous support on the sideline.

Well done lads!!
