On a blustery cold, but sunny dry day, the Harps newest team, the u8 girls, took to the playing fields of our neighbours St Maurs, for their 1st official outing. A Camogie 2 team game.

With an average of 14 girls turning out for regular training on a Thursday at 6-7, the smell of hot chocolate from Carol Dooley & cake pops from Eileen Hand, ensured we had a big turnout for our 1st game.

The skills learned in the clubs academy, stood to the girls, as they enjoyed very competitive games with the Maurs. The girls showed great ground striking, left and right, and ferocious tackling.

All the girls got to experience all positions on the pitch in the go games small sided games.

The girls coaches, Lara Sheridan & Laura Dooley, our accomplished u14 panellists were very pleased with the girls performance, as they marshalled them well on the day.

A fantastic turnout of Mams & Dads, brothers & sisters, to encourage the Harps girls along.

Roll on next week, when we play our first football games in a mini blitz.
