Skerries Harps arrived in Clontarf on a perfect morning for football hoping to preserve their 100% start to the league, having opening their campaign with two wins.

The Home team thou had other ideas and opened the scoring with a point from a free. Two minutes later Harps had the ball in the net after a good move which Colin Daly finished, a point by Harry Dawson and a long distance score from Daly had Skerries 1-2 to a 0-1 in front, then Scoil replied with four unanswered points to level things up. At this stage the game was hoting up nicely before Dawson put the visitors back in front from a free before Scoil struck back with a well taken goal. The home side maintained their lead to half time and went in 1-06 to 1-04 ahead.

The second period started much better for Harps and points from Dawson and Graham Cullen had them level, before the sides  traded four points each in the following 15mins, the Skerries scores from Dawson, Jack Smith, Barry Davey and the second half Sub Donal McIlgorm who was starting to influence the game from midfield. So the scores were level 1-10, we came to the turning point of the game with Scoil attacking they opened up the Harps rearguard only for Alun Cullinane in the Harps goal to deny a shot from point blank range, before clearing his lines with the ball eventually finding Barry Davey out wide and he delivered a ball which was punched to the net by Graham Cullen, Harps added points from Dawson, Eoin McGinley and Jack Smith to see out this tricky fixture and keep their perfect start to AFL2 season. Next up for Harps is a home fixture against St.Pats Palmerstown in three weeks.
