Skerries conceded home advantage to Cuala for this promotion tie, played on the all weather in Dun Laoighre college. Skerries needed to win this game to play in division one for the coming season.

Two early goals from Cuala had Skerries on the back foot from the start, Skerries eventually got a grip around the middle of the park with Fionnan O'Sullivan excelling.

Skerries started to play some better football from the back with Fionn O'leary & Kieran Foran setting up some excellent movements which Skerries capitalised on with good point taking from Thomas McBrien and Adam Bund who had an excellent game throughout. Despite this Cuala went into the half time break leading 4-2 to 1-3.

Cuala again dominated the start of the second half and forced keeper Liam Woodcock into some fine saves. Cormac Rocks led the charge from the half forward line and got a well deserved goal.

Thomas McBrien started to attack the Cuala defence making some incisive runs being rewarded with some fine scores.

However Cuala were more clinical and finished winners on a scoreline of

6-8 to 2-6

Skerries will be disappointed not to have played to their fullest and missing out on the chance to gain promotion this time.
