Skerries Harps completed their Div. 2 campaign by beating Erins Isle in Skerries on Friday night. With nothing at stake, both sides fielded understrength but Harps always had the edge.

Before the throw in, a minutes silence was held to mark the tragic passing of Jane Dardis, RIP., who had played both Camogie and Ladies football for Skerries in addition to coaching in the Academy.

Graham Cullen marked the occasion by scoring 3 goals – the first coming after 15 minutes to put Skerries 1 -4 to 0 -2 in front. Within 5 minutes Isles hit the net twice but Cullen again found the net in 23rd minute and Skerries led 2 -7 to 2 -2 at the break.

Cullen struck again in the 38th minute  and when Paul Cashman found the net after 50 minutes the points were safe  for Terry McGinnis team. Skerries last score in Div 2 came from Jack Smith when he pointed at the final whistle. Best for Skerries were Rory Newsholme, David O'Brien, Sean Rocks and Donal McIlgorm. The Division 2 trophy was presented to Skerries captain, Harry Dawson   after the game, as Harps look forward to playing Division 1 football next season.
