Skerries Harps Club Notes 15th April 2019

Well done to our Moriarty Supervalu sponsored Minor Hurlers on their League win over Clanna Gael Fontenoy & to the McMeels Pharmacy sponsored Junior Footballers on their opening Championship win against St Anne's Bohernabreena.

Well done to both U14 Hurling teams who participated in Feile na nGael over the weekend and who represented the club, their coaches parents and themselves so well during the competition. 

Congrats to Robyn Buckley, Sarah Smith & Rachel O'Brien who represented the club on the Dublin U16 Camogie team on Sun 14th in the Leinster Championship & to Alix Buckley with the Dublin Intermediate Camogie team. James Casey played with the Dublin Minors vs Armagh & Ronan Geoghegan with the Dublin u15 Hurlers vs Westmeath over the weekend. Well done all! 

The G4M&O played their first home fixture vs Walterstown yesterday at Townparks to great home support! A brilliant match from both teams! New members always welcome contact Chris on 087 9725519.

Well done to our Moriarty Supervalu sponsored U16 Footballers on their win over Kilmacud Crokes in the Division 1 League making it 6 wins from 6 this season.  Hard Luck to the Senior 1 Camogie and Minor Football Division 1 who were both defeated yesterday.

Congratulations to Robyn Buckley, Sarah Smith & Rachel O'Brien who represented the club on the Dublin U16 Camogie team vs Kilkenny on Sun 7th in the Leinster Championship. Well done also to Hannah McGinnis on the Dublin U14 ladies football team vs Meath on Sat 6th.

Congratulations to our newly qualified Level 1 Referees, all U16 members of the club, James Kenny, Callan Kelly and Ethan Dunne who did a great job refereeing the U8 Hurling blitz over the weekend and Luke Whelan, Sean Emmett & Tiernan Ryan who refereed the U9 hurling vs Sylvester’s and also did a great job!!

Skerries Harps Club Notes 1st of April 2019

2019 Feile competitions started over the weekend and our U14 Division 3 Camogie team competed strongly in group competition on Saturday the 30th, defeating Fingallians in the semi-final and unfortunately lost out to St Judes in yesterday's Final. Congratulations to the girls and mentors on a great weekend of Camogie. 

Our AFL1 team defeated Thomas Davis by a 1 point margin at Home on Sunday the 31st, AFL9 travelled to Round Towers Clondalkin and took home a win and the Minor Hurlers defeated Craobh Chiarain in the Division 3 league.

Emma Parker & Megan Carroll represented the club on the Dublin Minor Camogie Panel & Jack Smith lined out with the Westmeath senior footballers over the weekend.

Gaelic for Mothers & others took part in their first blitz of the 2019 season on Sat 23rd and are always welcoming new members. Contact Chris on 087 9725519 for more info

Congratulations to Lyndsey Davey & the Dublin Senior Ladies on their win in the League over Galway on Sun 24th. Also, well done to Jane Maguire, Sarah Smith, Robyn Buckley & Rachel O'Brien all part of the Dublin u16 Camogie panel who defeated Offaly yesterday Sun 24th. Alix Buckley & Emma Parker represented the club on the Dublin Intermediate & Minor Camogie Panels respectively over the weekend.

Congratulations to Lyndsey Davey, Eve Kehoe & the Dublin Senior Ladies on their win in the League over Monaghan on Saturday the 16th. 

Hard luck to the Skerries Community College Senior Footballers who were defeated by Ashbourne College in Leinster Senior B Schools final on Fri 15th in an action packed game in Abbotstown. 

Well done to Ronan Geoghegan, Greg McEneaney & Eoghan O'Connor Flanagan who lined out with the Dublin u15 Footballers vs Tyrone on Saturday the 16th and to Alex Ward who played with the Dublin u14 Camogie Team vs Limerick on Monday the 18th.

Well done to all our Juvenile teams U8-U11 who took part in the Annual Skerries St Patrick's day parade, a great turnout by players, coaches and parents. Great fun was had by all at our fun activities before the parade, well done to the winners of the crossbar challenge.

Many thanks to all who supported the Feile Fundraiser Race Night held on Fri 15th, a great night had by all who attended! This was the final fundraiser for 2019 Feile and the committee would like to thank all those who supported the various fundraisers held over the last 6 months. Best of luck to our U14 Football, Hurling Ladies Football and Camogie teams in their upcoming Feile Competitions


Skerries Harps Club Notes 11th of March 2019

Hard luck to our Blue Bar sponsored Adult Hurlers who were defeated by Lucan Sarsfields in AHL5 on Sun 10th.  Both minor football teams were defeated in their respective leagues yesterday. 

The Moriarty Supervalu sponsored U16 Div 1 Footballers continued their strong start in the league making it 4 consecutive wins, with an 8 pt win over Sylvesters on Sat 9th. Both U14 football teams recorded wins in Div 2 & Div 8 on Sat. The KMR Catering sponsored U16 Ladies Footballers recorded a draw, playing away against Ballinteer SJ in Div 2. 

Congratulations to the Skerries Community College Senior Footballers who won the Dublin Senior B Schools final on Fri 8th in an exciting encounter against Salesians College Celbridge. They now face Ashbourne in the Leinster Final this Fri 15th. 

Well done to Alix Buckley who lined out with the Dublin Intermediate Camogie Team & to Hannah McGinnis who played with the Dublin u14 Ladies Footballers over the weekend.

Hard luck to our AFL 1 & AFL 4 teams who both suffered league defeats at home on Sunday the 3rd in some very difficult conditions. Well done to the Minor Hurlers on their win in Div 3 over Commericals. 

The Moriarty Supervalu sponsored U16 Div 2 Hurlers & U15 Div 3 Hurlers got their respective league campaigns off to a start with both teams recording draws & the U13 Div 6 hurlers had a strong win over Castleknock in difficult conditions for hurling over the weekend. 

Congratulations to the Dublin Senior Ladies on their win over Westmeath in the League on Sun 3rd.  Well done to Ben Jones & Eoin Wilde who played for the Dublin u16s vs Mayo over the weekend.

Well done to our Division 1 Minor footballers sponsored by Moriarty Supervalu & Ridgeways on their opening League win over Clontarf yesterday. Our Adult Hurlers recorded a draw in AHL5 against Clanna Gael Fontenoy.

The Moriarty Supervalu sponsored U16 Div 1 footballers recorded their 3rd league win of the season on Saturday, defeating Fingallians and the U15 Footballers had a strong win over Naomh OP ER on Sunday. Well done to all our young players across U8-U16 who represented the club over the weekend in Hurling, Football Camogie & Ladies Football.

Congratulations to Lyndsey Davey & the Dublin Senior Ladies on their win over Mayo and to Alix Buckley & the Dublin Senior Camogie Team on their league win against Clare. Well done to Megan Carroll, Emma Parker and the Dublin minor Camogie team in their win over Wexford. Well done also to James Casey who played for the Dublin minors over the weekend.

Hard luck to our AFL1 & AFL4 teams who were defeated in their opening league matches on Sun 18th. Juvenile Boys Football has now recommenced for all teams from U8-U16, well done to all our teams who took part in Go Games activity and competed in their respective leagues over the weekend.

Hard luck to Alix Buckley and the Dublin Senior Camogie Team who were defeated by Limerick in the league yesterday Sun 18th.

Academy continues on Saturday the 23rd Feb 10am -11am Club shop open during Academy, tea/coffee available in the Clubhouse. We are seeking more volunteers to help out in the Club Shop or with Refreshments for an hour on a Sat morning - Contact Joanne 086-4058523 if you can help.

The last of our Community Walk Every Thursdays takes place this Thurs Feb 21st as part of the "Ireland Lights up" initiative in partnership with Operation Transformation. Meet 6.30pm for walk at 7, wear High-Vis Jacket if possible! 

Skerries Harps Gaelic4mothers&Others team back training every Monday eve from 9-10pm at the main pitch. Come along and join in. Great fun and a great way to get out playing football in a fun, non-competitive and social environment. Contact Chris for more info on 087 972 5519.

The Annual "Bernie Dowling" Coffee Morning in aid of the St Francis Hospice will take place in the Clubhouse on Fri 1 March from 10am. All support much appreciated.
